It's that time of year where rolling fields of lavender are highlighted in Sequim during the annual Sequim Lavender Weekend.
Have you snapped a bucolic photograph filled with that sweet purple flower? Maybe there's a photo on your phone of a pup romping through a field? Or perhaps the family visited a lavender farm recently?
Whatever the pastoral picture is, we're looking for photographs for our Lavender Photo Contest, in honor of Sequim Lavender Weekend and the Sequim-Dungeness Valley's family-owned lavender farms.
The seven winning photos — determined by online voting — will receive prizes from area sponsors: Broker's Group, Clallam County Fair, Fiesta Jalisco, First Federal, Purple Haze, Olympic Game Farm, and Wilder Auto.
Prizes include gift baskets, gift certificates, and season passes from the Clallam County Fair. To see the full list, click on "Winners".
Entering is easy; click "Submission" above and follow the directions. Follow the brief instructions for entering, and post your photo. Please remember to include your city and state!
The contest is free, but only residents of Clallam or Jefferson county older than 13 may enter. Parents may submit photos taken by their children who are younger than 13.
All entries must by submitted online; no entries will be accepted via mail or in person.
The deadline for entries is Monday, July 20.
The public will vote online starting Tuesday, July 21, to determine which photographers will take home a prize.
Voting ends Monday, July 27.
The Lavender Photo Contest is sponsored by Peninsula Daily News, Sequim Gazette and Forks Forum.
